This 2011 A6 Avant is getting delivered to me by Carvana on Tuesday for a 7-day trial. I think I’ve watched every single C6 A6 video on YouTube and scoured the forums for thoughts, feelings, musings, any semblance of a long-term review. It may be nerves but... I’m still not satiated so I’m asking if anyone here has had experience with these, the supercharged 3.0, Carvana, late model audis etc., etc. please chime in.

I think the car is gorgeous but I know the long overhangs turn some off.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I love this gen of A6 and the wagon has a real good booty.

My coworker has an A6 Sedan with the 3 liter supercharged for 3-4 years now. No issues with the engine at all. He’s just been annoyed by the occasion tech gremlins and not fully understanding the cost of upkeep in advance of purchase.

Honestly can’t recall if I’ve ever seen or noticed a c6 in person, so that’s definitely a cool pick up. The supercharged 3.0 seems to be a pretty good motor from what I understand.

Depending on how it feels (and if I keep it) - I hear they respond really well to the APR stage 2 set up. (400+hp)

First thing you should do is find a well respected indie and take it in for them to tell you absolutely *everything* wrong or possibly wrong they can with it, and tell you whether it’s normal wear or not.

The engine is what sells it for me. I drove a few A7s with the ‘3.ot’ and really loved the punch. The reliability (compared to older audi engines) is a selling point as well.

We have used their freebie 100 day
warranty as well. The Mrs’
beetle had both high and low pressure fuel pumps fail. The warranty covered it no issue and it was hassle free overall.
For reference: Fiat 500 abarth, VW Beetle, MX-5 RF, 340i all came from Carvana. All have typical used car wear, but the photos detailed everything as needed. All were/are good cars.

additional note, I had an 06 a6 with the 3.0 - not the same supercharged one or era of car , but I hated the motor. It was also in process of grenading itself due to valve issues, so I am perhaps biased to that.

This is a great engine, not much goes wrong with them in my experience. There’s a nes t of plastic cooling hoses and pipes under the intake and blower which will need to be replaced at some point, but generally they’ve been great in my customer’s cars (lots of Q5s, S4s, newer A6 sedans mostly) . Cool to have the engine in this body style. Service the transmission and rear diff if there’s no record of it.

There are so many services like this now. What makes CarVana special? Some of their prices seem high and the vehicles usually aren’t super special.

Awesome! Thanks for your insight. It looks like the only thing on the maintenance schedule for 2011 trans and diffs was check for leaks.

I agree with you. This model in this spec is pretty special for my region. Also it was super convenient and risk free so I figured I’d try it out.

I’m considering OffLeaseOnly when I pull the trigger. A lot of them have been in wrecks, but my RAV4 was in a couple bad wrecks and it still runs well.

I really enjoy my C5 A6 Avant quattro 3.o.
But our resident German mech TFrischt would probably tell you to stay away from anything German because quote, “German engineering is why use one part why 3 will do the job?”
The one thing that really bothers me is the T. WTF Audi? It has a supercharger. It should be a 3.0S or 3.0SC.
